A Quiet Revolution Playlist Song 2

Thanks for popping by again! This is the second day where you get a look into my head at the reasons behind the songs.

What? you may be asking.

In the back of A Quiet Revolution I put a playlist, along with the chapters to which each song is tied. Yesterday I started the process of presenting them to you, one at a time, and explaining a little bit about why that song goes with that chapter.

So here’s day two, and song two!

Today’s song is Don’t Pay The Ferryman by Chris De Burgh. For those of you who only know De Burgh for his song Lady in Red, all I can say is, I’m sorry. He is really so, so much more than that piece of saccharine tripe.

Anyways, this song is tied to Chapter One. If you’ve read the other Cassidy books, then you know… SPOILER ALERT! If you haven’t read The Measure of Humanity, you should stop here. Sorry. Really, stop now.

Okay. If you’ve made it this far, on your head be it.

At the end of the previous book, Kendra is attacked and nearly killed. She is only saved by Cass’s quick actions, but it’s very nearly too late. A Quiet Revolution opens with Kendra still recovering from her wounds.

Don’t Pay the Ferryman, then, seemed perfect to me. The references to Charon, the ferryman who demanded payment to bring souls across the River Styx, the lines from The Tempest (very quiet in the bridge; I can only hear them when I have headphones on), all said to me it belonged to this chapter. Kendra has refused to pay the ferryman and so is still here, alive and kicking.

Anyways, enjoy the song! If you want to buy the book, click the button BELOW the song.
