CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!

I am looking for stories to fill a new anthology set in my CASSIDYVERSE (based on my Cassidy Chronicles series). It's an LGBTQ-inclusive sci-fi series, with five mainline novels, a sideways prequel, a forthcoming anthology, and a forthcoming novel establishing a new branch of the series.

AND I WANT YOU!

What am I looking for?

I want you to take a situation or character or setting from the books and tell me a story. Tell me something that didn't make it into the books yet!

Genre: it's all sci-fi, but beyond that? Let your mind roam! Romance? Sure! Historical? Absolutely! Military? Yup! Mystery? Definitely!

Length: Micro-fiction to novelette (100-20000), though if you're going to hit me with a 20k story you'd best bring your "A" game!

How many stories will I take? I am aiming for 100k words, and will take those stories which are THE BEST. I don't anticipate less than 20 or more than 50.

Payment: Micro-fiction (up to 100 words) and Flash Fiction (100-1500 words), $0.08 per word (SFWA qualifying rate). Short stories and novelettes, either $0.08 per word OR a percentage of royalties based on word count. Payment upon publication or 90 days after acceptance, whichever is earlier.

Rights: Right of first US publication. Exclusive content for six months for ebook, print, and audiobook. Writers will retain all other rights.

SPECIAL NOTE: I will also consider non-fiction (poetry, artwork, technical articles based on the principles in the books). Payment for these will be negotiated on a per-submission basis.

DEADLINE: JULY 1, 2022!

Estimated publication: September, 2022

Submission Guidelines: Book Antiqua or Times New Roman, 12 point, 1" margins, double-spaced. DOC/DOCX format ONLY. Any other format will be rejected without reading. Author name and title in header on every page. Include the story title and author name in the subject line.

Submission email: adam@cassidychronicles.com

Why Hopepunk?

That's a question I was asked recently by Shepherd dot com. You can read my answer, and my recommendations for five books I think influence the genre, at the link below. Enjoy! https://shepherd.com/be
