It’s been a while since there was a direct conflict between the Federation and Artemis. Last time, in fact, was at the end of The Road to the Stars. Since then, both sides have been doing their best to prepare, building forces, and running some behind-the-scenes espionage to try to get an edge. Inasmuch as there has been conflict it’s been on the personal level, the individual level.
That changes now.
