This is a great song, one which I hadn’t been aware of when it was released but fits with the general theme of the book and the dedication.
The song? She’s Kerosene, by The Interrupters.
It ties in nicely in two ways: first, the whole match & explosion theme I have going through the book, but second, the idea that even through the worst of it there’s a chance to rise again.
It doesn’t tie perfectly to the chapter – chapter one, book two. That was deliberate, actually. It’s meant to reinforce the theme of the book, not necessarily just the individual chapter.
